The Prosecutor’s Office investigates the use that Alejandro Astesiano made of his access to the Security and Monitoring System of the Ministry of the Interior due to his position as person in charge of the security of the president, Luis Lacalle Pou. Due to his work, the accused had the possibility of having access to the Interior cameras from the Executive Tower.

as he knew The Observer, in Astesiano’s office they located information that supports the hypothesis that he used them for personal purposes, including several illicit businesses he had. The custodian used to go to the distribution of the Executive Tower where the node was and asked the visualizers to show him certain points of the city, which had nothing to do with his work as a custodian.
Sources of the investigation indicated that it remains to analyze in depth the data collected when the prosecutor in the case, Gabriela Fossati, inspected the place.

Russian officials question

as he knew The Observer from diplomatic sources, the documents sent to prosecution include the names of the people who participated in the procedures since 2014. This encompasses the Russian officials who have worked at the consulate in Moscow since that year since at least one of them has direct access to the identity card and passport management system and was the one who linked up with the people who were going to process the documentation since he speaks the language.
“All the documentation that was made there and the officials who intervened are being investigated,” said a source from the investigation.
The claim that the documentation was forged in Moscow was made by Alexey Slivaevthe Russian who was indicted for Fossati beside Alexander Astesian (the former head of custody of Luis Lacalle Pou), the notary public Alvaro Fernandez and his wife Patricia Medina.
