The police authorities began an investigation into the discovery of the lifeless body of the Seniat official, Amado José Torres Lavite, 42 years old, and who was mayor of the Cocorote municipality (Yaracuy) for two periods (2013-2021).
The body of Torres Lavite was located on the beaches of Cayo Sombrero, this Wednesday morning, after an intense search when his disappearance was reported.
Torres Lavite was a lawyer, leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) and head of Internal Taxes of the Seniat in Tucacas.
According to what was learned, the Seniat official had taken a boat to travel to Cayo Sobrero, alone. However, when the boatman went to look for him, as they had agreed, he did not find him and in his place there were only his shoes and his cell phones on the sand.
The boatman immediately notified the authorities and a commission from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc) Tucacas Delegation, together with relief and rescue organizations, activated the search protocols by sea and land, until, finally, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, the rescuers sighted and recovered the lifeless body.
The Cicpc investigators began investigations into the strange death of Torres Lavite and are using several hypotheses.
