They investigate the causes of the plane crash in Charallave

The M / G Carlos Pérez Ampueda, Vice Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, reported on his social network Twitter that investigations are continuing to determine the causes of the air accident recorded this Wednesday afternoon in the Valles del Tuy, state Miranda, where six people died: four passengers and two crew members.

The deputy minister confirmed that the victims were identified as Guillermo Vargas (pilot) and Milton Leandro Quigua Camacho (46) residing in San Antonio de los Altos, Los Salias municipality, Miranda state (co-pilot).

The four passengers were identified as Aldo José Camacho Leal, a native of Barinas; Juan Carlos Barajas Romero (37), Ronald Eliézer Camacho Archila (Barinas) and Christian Gerardo Toni Peña (40), who was president of the Estudiantes de Mérida Fútbol Club team.

It was learned that the remains of the plane were located in the La Bozúa Peasant Settlement, via La Pica in San Francisco de Yare, Simón Bolívar municipality in Miranda.

Apparently the plane would have declared an emergency at the Caujarito sector in Charallave, near the Oscar Machado Zuloaga Airport, better known as Caracas Airport, located in KeychainCristóbal Rojas municipality.

Authorities initially flew over the area by helicopter and determined that there were no survivors at the site.

Events that occurred with the plane

According to a report from the Miranda State Center for Disaster Prevention and Attention, the Lear Jet 55 CPOP model aircraft, acronym YV-3304, took off from the Bartolomé Salom airport in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state, bound for the Oscar Machado Zuloaga Airport, known as Caracas, located in the city of Charallave, Miranda state.

The pilot would have reported that he had problems with the aircraft’s reversible gears before rushing to the ground and entered the deflate phase on frequency 119.2 a few minutes after landing due to an incident, which caused the plane to descend to the ground. The airplane’s reversibles were activated and it caught fire.

Officials from the National Institute of Civil Aviation and Monitor Venezuela saw the aircraft at a height of 2,350 feet, at a speed of 267 k/h, 6 km from the Oscar Machado Zuloaga airport in Charallave after the pilot reported the emergency on radar No. 185 to 4 minutes from this airport of yours.

Eleven officials from the Search and Rescue Service (SAR Venezuela), the Miranda Fire Department, the Caracas Airport Aeronautical Fire Department, the Bolivarian National Guard, the Polinational Police and Civil Protection attended the site, who carried out the tasks of rescuing the bodies of the occupants of the the plane.

The authorities used small planes and helicopters YV520T and YV0161 that flew over the area of ​​the incident and found the tail of the plane and the license plate. Investigations into the accident continue.
