The General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGP) initiated an investigation into the alleged irregularities that may have been committed in the acquisition of the paint used by the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (propep) in the program Paint your neighborhood at Christmas.
The head of the DGP, Carlos Pimentel, said that this office is delving into the content of a journalistic work done by El Informe Con Alicia Ortega, which reveals that in the bidding For the aforementioned program, in which the State invested 55 million pesos, companies that seem to be ghosts or linked to each other participated and that the Propep received from some companies paintings different from those that had been tendered.
“Yesterday we saw the work of El Informe and we are deepening in relation to its content. After verifying the information we will always return to the country a report of our assessment,” said Pimentel.
He affirmed that the verification of the report is in charge of part of the DGP team and, as in other cases, it will act according to the circumstances and what it can verify.
In this regard, the director of Ethics and Government Integrity (Digeig), Milagros Ortiz Bosch, said that she is alert to this and all complaints of this type to what the Public Procurement Directorate raised.
“I am alert, as we are alert with all these things, waiting to see what it resolves; what the Procurement Directorate proposes,” said Ortiz Bosch, noting that it is respectful of the role that each State agency must play.
