Eight officers of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) are being investigated because they allegedly stole and sold 4,000 rods, according to police sources. Five of those eight investigated were captured by members of the Cicpc’s Theft Directorate.
They presume that the military stole two trucks with approximately 4,000 rods that were in facilities of the Caracas Subwaymortar plant, former Odebrecht company.
The soldiers allegedly involved hold the rank of sergeants and are attached to the Petare Detachment, Miranda Regiment, of the People’s National Guard Command, explained the source.
The investigation was opened by the 25th Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of the Miranda state in charge of the lawyer Mary Martín, said judicial sources.
