The discovery of a spy camera in the cell of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho remains unknown. On the one hand, the director of the Chonchocoro prison, Franz Laura, prepares a report and faces an administrative investigation of the visits registered in the penitentiary compound and in the medical area where the departmental authority is located.
On the other, the director of the Penitentiary Regime, Juan Carlos Limpias, suspects that the camera entered and left “irregularly” due to omissions in the entry controls and the “priority” that would have been given to Camacho’s relatives and acquaintances.
“We have requested a report and investigation of all those who have entered this area: civil and police personnel, and including visitors who entered the prison. We are going to have the information because there were moments(in which) taking advantage of the fact that there were conflicts outside the prison by organizations and groups, (that) we have allowed mobilities to enter the Governor’s Office to avoid any type of aggression, protecting the family, the children and the lawyers themselves ” the official maintained.
Regarding the visits to Camacho, he mentioned that many concessions were given, such as permission for Fátima Jordán to stay with her husband 24 hours a day, in addition to allowing other visitors to enter without queuing to avoid complaints. He stressed that they did their best for protecting their health at the risk of receiving claims from other prisoners for inequalities.
Limpias considers that perhaps they made a mistake in prioritizing Camacho’s visits, since on many occasions “they have not entered through the regular channel and we also suspect that at this time, since they have not followed the regular channels, they has taken advantage of these situations (for the possible entry of the camera). He makes us believe that the entry and exit of the chamber has not been regular ”.
He announced that there will be sanctions for the lack of controls in income of people and carsbut first the internal administrative instances will be exhausted, before the case passes into the hands of the Public Ministry.
On Thursday, Camacho’s defense denounced the discovery of a spy camera located on the wall of the bathroom door, which was recently built. At that time, they announced the filing of a criminal lawsuit because they considered that the rights to privacy and dignity of their client and his wife who remained in the cell had been violated. However, the Police refused to receive the accusation to investigate this case.

“I am proposing two hypotheses and this is clarified in a due process, in an investigation, and what must be done is to provide the information so that justice can act,” he said.
The government authority said that there is no evidence that the camera had been installed by the Penitentiary Regime, but also said that it was not delivered in the prison either, but outside of it, with which, in its opinion, Camacho’s defense “damaged his case.” .
In this understanding, he reiterated that “the investigation of these two hypotheses, the one raised by Camacho’s lawyers and the one raised by the Penitentiary Regime must be clarified in due process.
