Punta Cana, La Altagracia. The Ministry of Tourism today inaugurated the second stage of street reconstruction in Verón, Punta Cana, with an investment of RD$64 million, with the objective of raising the quality of life of its inhabitants and continuing to promote tourism development in the area.

With this second stage they add up to an investment of more than RD$200 million in the municipal district of Verón in the construction of streets and avenues in recent months.

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado announced that by 2025 they will invest more RD$500 million in road infrastructure and small works in Verón and Bávaro.

The work inaugurated yesterday is the reconstruction of Pastor Domingo de la Cruz Street, at its interconnection with Domingo Maíz Avenue. An alternative route to decongest traffic in the area and help reduce travel time between the community of Verón and the Coral highway.

“This street shortens traffic for employees and for all the commercial development that runs through Bávaro-Punta Cana daily. This is a work that has been requested for more than 40 years by all the communities and by the president of the Hotel Association of the This one,” Collado explained.

The project consists of the reconstruction of 1.80 kilometers, with a section of road with 2 traffic lanes with a road width of 7 meters of Pastor Domingo de la Cruz Street, from Domingo Maíz Avenue, towards the northwest, to the intersection with Punta Cana Street.

In addition, the intervention included the construction of 5,400 square meters of sidewalk along the entire length of the road and 3,600 linear meters of containers. It also has a system of scuppers and filters for the effective management of storm drainage, in order to guarantee durability. of the road.

It also includes horizontal and vertical signage. While Frank Jorge Elías, general manager of the Puntacana Group, said that the work is very important for that destination.

“Not only because of the traffic, but because of the quality of life, safety, since its streets are paved, barriers are built and lighting is added, so people can move freely. “That is homeland.”
