With an investment of more than B/. 50 million that improves the quality of life of 35 thousand inhabitants, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, inaugurated two important road projects in the district of Antón, gave orders to proceed to rehabilitate more streets and build a polyclinic in that picturesque town from the province of Cocle.
During his Community Work Tour No. 136 that he carried out this Friday in Coclé, President Cortizo Cohen in the company of the Minister of Public Works, Rafael Sabonge, delivered the design and construction project for the internal streets and avenues of El Valle de Antón, which includes a length of 18.7 kilometers with an investment of B/.8.5 million for the benefit of more than 10 thousand inhabitants.
President Cortizo Cohen also inaugurated the design and construction project for the rehabilitation of streets and roads in the district of Antón, work that was carried out with an investment of B/.41.8 million and covered 73 kilometers of street repair for the benefit of more of 25 thousand inhabitants.
Cortizo Cohen stressed that these works benefit the community by improving their mobility and quality of life, tourism, commerce, agricultural production, as well as economic growth and encourages entrepreneurship.
He explained that this is an exemplary project because it was born from the community organized in conjunction with the circuit deputy, Melchor Herrera, who carried the flag for the work to become a reality.
In El Valle de Antón, it included the design and construction of 23 streets in this touristic town, as well as the construction of paved ditches, sidewalks, bike lanes, road signs and overhangs.
Gustavo Dember, community leader, expressed that this work has an impact on the development of the community, particularly to facilitate the arrival of more national and foreign tourists.
With the rehabilitation of streets in the Antón district, the residents of Los Pantanos, Bijagual, Río Hato, Buen Retiro, Marañón, Llano Grande, Guabas Arriba, Santa Rita, Cabuya, Las Guías de Oriente y Occidente, El Limón and Las Matas benefit. .
With this project, vehicular bridges were designed and built over the Chico River, the Quebrada Honda and the Las Guabas River, facilitating communication between various communities in the Antón district.
ORDERS TO PROCEED FOR POLYCLINIC AND REPAIR STREETS IN ANTON
In the company of his work team, the Chief Executive also delivered the orders to proceed for the construction of the new Antón Polyclinic, a project with an investment of B/.16,953,000.00; and for the construction of a street in the Antón district, with the investment of B/.20,858,941.30.
The street construction project in the district of Antón, in charge of the Calles del Valle Consortium made up of the companies Inversiones FJ, SA / Ingeniería PC, SA, includes a length of 74.84 kilometers of asphalt carpet, 40 streets in 8 corregimientos, stops buses, storm drains and includes the installation of 7 vehicular bridges.
Meanwhile, the new polyclinic, which belongs to the Social Security Fund (CSS), will benefit more than 58,000 residents of the Antón district, including the township of Río Hato and surrounding areas.
The development of this work, located in the community of Santa Mónica, is in charge of the construction company Nova, SA and should be ready in one year.
The Antón polyclinic will have emergency, general and specialized medicine services; Obstetrics, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, dentistry, technical services, nutrition, social work, nursing, support services, pharmacy, medical radiology, mammography, ultrasound, clinical laboratory and outpatient operating room for minor procedures, among others.
It will also have a hemodialysis room to care for a significant number of patients in this region.
Cortizo Cohen highlighted that the new CSS Polyclinic in Antón, a project expected for many years for the benefit of the people residing in the district, “is part of the health structures that we have built, improved and rescued to expand and modernize the hospital capacity of the country.
He added that his government’s infrastructure projects are designed and executed in a responsible and organized manner, to ensure that the works are completed without inconvenience.
Enrique Lau Cortés, general director of the CSS, announced that on May 17 the hemodialysis patient care system will be tendered, which will operate in the new Antón Polyclinic. “70% of the patients with kidney failure who are treated at the Rafael Estévez de Aguadulce Hospital are from the Antón area, so this new health infrastructure will improve the quality of life of patients,” said Lau Cortés.
