A total of 200 panels of drugs were seized in Cayo Norte, one of the islets of the Morrocoy (Falcón) National Park, according to reports from the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The drugs were inside a boat that was intercepted 20 nautical miles, east of Cayo Norte. On the boat, officials located 100 wrappers of cocaine, weighing 111 kilos and 72 grams, according to the minutes prepared by the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit (Uria) 41 and the Coast Guard of the Bolivarian Navy.
Likewise, on the boat they found 100 panels of marijuana, which totaled a weight of 54 kilos and 92 grams.
In this procedure, five people identified as Wilder Jesús Vargas Vargas, Omar José Suárez Ramírez, Argenis del Valle Ruiz Marcano, Douglas Javier Marcano Farías and Paul Jesús Marcano González were detained.
Another anti-drug procedure took place at the Citizen Service Point located in Vega de Aza (Táchira), where the military seized 17 panels of cocaine with a total weight of 19 kilos 443 grams, according to a report from Detachment 215 of the GNB.
The drug was hidden in a rear tire of a white Ford 7000, license plate A49CL1S, driven by Frayn Roberto Tayupo, from the city of San Cristóbal (Táchira) bound for Maturín (Monagas).
Tayupo was handed over to the Public Ministry.
