The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported this Saturday on the installation of the Committee to Care for Relatives of the Victims of the attack that occurred on January 3.
The central objective of this new inter-institutional structure is to guarantee comprehensive assistance and legal support to those affected during the aggression perpetrated by the United States.
The new committee is designed under a technical scheme that will allow each case to be addressed in a personalized way.
As detailed by Meléndez through his official channels, the body is divided into four fundamental areas: a technical secretariat, a technical advisory commission, a victim care commission and a representation commission.
This institutional deployment will have the support of national and international justice to ensure that the damages suffered by families are properly addressed.
“We firmly believe in peace diplomacy,” said the mayor, aligning this initiative with the guidelines of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
Actors in the justice process
The operation of the committee will depend on the joint work between various sectors of the State and civil society.
Among the fundamental actors that make up this structure, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), the civil and criminal justice agencies, as well as various government institutions and legally constituted victims’ organizations stand out.
With the activation of this body, the Government of Caracas seeks to consolidate a justice model that prioritizes the repair of damages and citizen coexistence.
The mayor stressed that this structure will be the pillar to channel the necessary assistance and guarantee that the victims’ families have permanent support from the State.
