This Friday there was a visual inspection as advance test of the BRT o Rapid Transport Bus. According to prosecutor Alexander Mendoza, the action was carried out due to the deterioration of the work.
Angélica Sosa was present at the inspection, who is one of the defendants in this case, for alleged breach of duties and uneconomic conduct. The former councilwoman and former interim mayor of the city stated that the work of the BRT was completed and delivered during Percy’s tenure Fernández, and her internship as mayor.
“On April 30, 2021, all the conditions were (given) for the Urban Mobility plan to give comfort to the neighbors,” he said. Sosa questioned that during the inspection it was not possible to enter the BRT stations, which were closed.
“It is a work that does not work at the whim of the mayor Jhonny Fernández. It has been proven, it worked for several months”, stated the former councilor during the inspection.

Bernardo Montenegro, spokesman for the Municipal Legal Department, pointed out that the BRT will cause chaos in the city and that it was built only with “political intention”, not technical. He remarked that there was damage to the coffers of the Municipality and that the amount is being established in an audit.
In addition, he announced that they await the court order as a “green light” to remove the laces that divide the BRT track from the rest of the route of the first ring.
For his part, Jorge Rivero, Sosa’s lawyer, affirmed that it was possible to show that the BRT work was completed and it was working (in 2021). He maintained that there is a “political pretension” in withdrawing the cordons.
The inspection report is awaited, which could be ready in 48 hours.
