The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention of the National District imposed three months in prison this Saturday on one of the four undocumented Haitians, accused of wounding a soldier of the General Directorate of Migration during an operation in the Ensanche Piantini, in the capital.
Despite being undocumented, two of the four were released on bail upon payment of a financial guarantee of 15 thousand pesos in cash, periodic presentation and prevention of leaving the country, and a third was sent to the Children’s Court. Adolescents, because they are minors.
The coercive measure, dictated by Judge Fátima Veloz, was imposed on the main accused, Donald Almonord, who was sent to the Najayo prison, San Cristóbal.

Meanwhile, those granted bail are Juanse Suaci and Yevit Seflet, who will remain detained in the Ciudad Nueva Courthouse until they pay bail.
The four are accused by the Public Ministry and the General Directorate of Immigration of attacking agents Kelvin Valdez Rivas and Silvio Marino Pérez, the latter injured by a gunshot wound to the leg.
According to Immigration, the incident occurred when Valdez Rivas, together with an officer of the Dominican Navy, was following a foreigner at a construction site.
Upon entering the site, the workers allegedly dragged the agents into a construction hole, where they were beaten. They took away Valdez Rivas’s service weapon and shot him in the thigh.
The institution condemned the attack and assured that it will continue to bring to justice those who attack the personnel in charge of immigration operations.
