This Monday the personnel of the National Navy was able to confirm the identity of the person whose human remains were found in the waters of the Rambla Sur in Montevideo.

First thing in the morning, part of an arm and a leg were found, which were entangled between garments that were tied to a supermarket cart. These members were found by two Navy divers who were working in the area (near Paraguay Street) in search of more traces.

After several days without having a clue who it could be, lacking data and not having fingerprints or teeth, the authorities were able to find the identity of the person. In accordance with Telemundo, is a 44-year-old man of Uruguayan nationality. This person had a record for theft.

In the framework of the investigation carried out in this case, the authorities were able to determine that the person was murdered 48 hours with a knife.

These were the conclusions reached by the forensic analysis carried out by the staff of the Forensic Technical Institute. The analyzes also pointed out that the cause of death was various stab wounds. The body has a large number of cuts on the chest and abdomen.

Previously, the Police handled the possibility that the body was thrown from the high seas and that it is the crew member of a boat. In this case, his arrival on the shore would be due to the drag of the current.

The discovery of the remains occurred last Thursday, when officials from the Prefecture of Trouville responded to a call denouncing its presence.
