An aerial tragedy involving a Huey II helicopter with registration FAC-4441, of the Colombian Air Force, claimed the lives of the eight crew members, five men and three women, who were flying over the Garabato village, municipality of Cumaribo, department of Vichada.

The air accident, the causes of which are unknown, occurred at 4 in the morning on Sunday, September 29.
The Colombian Air Force mentioned that the crew was carrying out an aeromedical mission before losing communication with the headquarters and falling to the ground.

“We deeply regret the death of the eight crew members of the helicopter”announced the Ministry of Defense on its social media accounts.
The soldiers who lost their lives in the air accident are CT Julián Perilla Pinto, ST Edgar Durán Villareal, T2 Jhonattan Caro Rincón, T3 Liceth Duarte Barbosa, T4 Karel Rojas Núñez, T4 Luis Montoya Ospina, T4 Ana María Gutiérrez Bolívar and T4 María González Ramirez.
“At this time their relatives are being accompanied by professionals from the mobile family intervention teams to receive psychological support, while the rescue efforts are carried out,” the ministry reported through X.
