Search operations continue
Rescue teams, led by the Navy and local firefighters, continue their efforts to rule out the existence of more victims. However, operations have been hampered by adverse weather conditions and strong waves in the area.
Hotel expresses condolences
RIU Hotels & Resorts, where the victims were staying, expressed its solidarity with the affected families. The hotel chain reported that it is collaborating closely with local authorities and providing emotional support to the victims’ loved ones.
In a statement, the hotel recalled that it had placed red flags on the beach as a warning of dangerous maritime conditions, characterized by intense currents and high waves. These measures seek to alert guests about the danger of entering the sea in these circumstances.
