The president of the Superior Council of Tourism (Conseturismo), leudo gonzalezinformed that for this carnival season a 40% hotel occupancy is expected in the main tourist destinations of Venezuelans, such as Margarita and Mérida.
According to data from the institution, air tickets are still available to travel to these destinations this festive season.
“We must say that there are still enough seats in air transport to receive this mobilization. we hope we have an average occupancy of between 30 and 45%. Expectations are high and we hope that this holiday can materialize in an important way”, said González.

He also highlighted that the trend of travelers could be the beaches of the states Miranda, Carabobo and La Guaira. And although there is a low level of reservations, expectations remain high in terms of places like Margarita or Mérida in these carnivals.
“The level of reservations has been a bit slow, but there are great expectations that at the last minute people decide to move to the different tourist destinations in the country,” he said.
Finally, the president of Conseturismo acknowledged that 2023 will be a key year to “boost the country’s tourism sector.”
