“The campaign from your government to stigmatize the signatories is putting us in the crosshairs of the assassins and is trying to discourage those who believe in peace,” he emphasized.
He stressed that more than 300 peace signatories have already been assassinated and the last one was (Jorge Santofimio Yepes) Jorgillo, an enthusiast for peace, an enthusiast for reconciliation, whose son is torn between life and death.
Through a video posted on his Twitter profile, the political leader pointed out that by action or omission, Duque is responsible for this crime.
He recalled that when the guerrilla marches, with their equipment on their backs, their rifles on their shoulders and their bellies half empty, the members of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) were accompanied by their conviction that allowed to get ahead.
“When those infiltrated by military intelligence assassinated our compañeras and compañeros at the stroke of midnight, they poisoned our food, we learned lessons and moved on,” he stressed.
He recalled that they never lost the spirit or the enthusiasm to continue fighting for the new Colombia through the insurrectionary project or the political solution and in Havana – he stressed – they achieved it and laid the foundations for the reconciliation of Colombians and the construction of the peace with social justice.
President Duque, you had a historic opportunity to be the first president to fully and simultaneously implement the Agreements. He didn’t want to do it out of conviction. The little that was achieved was due to inertia and because the agreements are very well armored,” Londoño emphasized.
He warned that the former guerrillas under the Peace Agreement will not return to war, they will not be forced to return and they will not be able to do so because they will continue to do so with the same enthusiasm with which they always fought for the new Colombia.
The political leader called on Colombian men and women, especially young people, not to give up working for the new Colombia.
“We are going with a great sense of responsibility to elect the person who will guarantee us the construction of Colombia in peace, the implementation of the Peace Agreement. They will not take away our joy, nor the possibility of realizing the dreams of seeing a Colombia in peace with social justice”, he assured.
Yesterday, the United Nations Organization (UN) and Cuba and Norway, guarantor countries of the Peace Agreement, rejected the assassination of former guerrilla and social leader Jorge Santofimio, as well as others in the process of reincorporation.
