From the Waraira Repano room of the Fruto Vivas Popular University for the Environment (Upafv), located on the sixth floor of the Central Office of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (Minec), in the South Tower of El Silencio, in downtown from the capital, a videoconference was held with the Intersectoral Collective for Environmental Educational Management (Cigea).
The central theme of the meeting was the teaching of the functioning of natural environments, an important aspect so that human beings can adapt to them without harming nature, among other elements, recommendations were indicated to people to learn to lead a sustainable life that reduces the impact on the environment and does not increase the climate crisis, in order to allow the subsistence of life on the planet.
The videoconference was moderated by the General Director of Training and President of the Environmental Education Foundation (Fundambiente), Jesús Méndez, and included the participation of representatives of the Ministry for University Education (Mppeu), Atención de las Aguas (MinAguas), Electric Power (Mppee) and entities attached to Minec such as the National Reforestation Company (Conare), the National Parks Institute (Inparques) and the Misión Árbol Foundation, as well as other institutions that have environmental education instances. Online was staff from the Ecosocialist Territorial Unit (UTEC) from the states of Carabobo, Yaracuy and Trujillo.
With these videoconferences, management and training tasks are combined, which include all the institutions and ministries that have the task of educating on environmental matters.
At the meeting, they discussed the policies in the training area developed by the Minec, among which are the School Ecological Brigades together with the Ministry of Education (Mppe), the Technical Recycling and Cleaning Tables (Metras), the Brigades against Climate Change or Training Camps, environmental events, ecological calendar 2023 and the literature produced by the Minec.
