At the facilities of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (Minec) located in Caracas, a conversation was held, with the purpose of organizing women within the different work spaces, through the formation of Feminist Committees. I find that it was led by the staff that is part of the Office for Women and Gender Equality.
During the activity, the representative of the portfolio for Women and Gender Equality, María Daniela Ramírez, was present, who expressed that, “the intention is to organize women within all spaces, in this case it would be the Sectoral Women’s Committees which are those summoned to women within the workplace, ministries and their affiliated entities. The original purpose is to explain to all the workers what the Feminist Councils are”.
In the same way, he commented that from this first discussion there will be a deployment within the aforementioned institution, where the strategies aimed at caring for women will be made known, including care for victims of violence and seasonal support circle, which is a policy of the Humanized Childbirth Plan.
“The idea is that you as women organize yourself, form your Feminist Council, which ranges from 10 to seven women per committee and that you create policies in your spaces to improve everything,” Ramírez said. For her part, the coordinator of the citizen service office of the National Parks Institute, Alexandra Romero, pointed out that this Monday’s meeting was held with the purpose of breaking patterns, for which she urged the women to work together to carry out projects for the well-being of this sector of the population.
