The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) detained three members of the Tren del Llano organization from whom war materials were seized, according to military sources.
One of the detainees is identified as Yonathan Junior López Laya, who was captured in Matas Altas, a rural area of the Pedro Zaraza municipality which connects with Santa María de Ipire, La Becerra and Los Guatacaros, sectors where the Tren del Llano collects vaccinations from agroproducers.
López carried in a handbag the amount of 56 cartridges caliber 7.62 × 39 mm for rifles.
Upon verification, López Laya showed that he was requested in the Cicpc-Zaraza according to file K-15-0185-01049 dated 05/15/2016, for the crime of illicit possession of a firearm.
In another GNB procedure carried out in Guárico, this time in the El Arbolito sector, Chaguaramas municipality, two other members of the Tren del Llano were captured: José Gregorio Álvarez and Ángel Lorenzo Arias, who were seized four 12-gauge shotguns, the source said. .
The Tren del Llano, a gang that was born in Altagracia de Orituco (Guárico) where it has a list of agricultural producers to extort, gradually expanded to other municipalities in Guárico where it also charges vaccines.
Since last March, Tren del Llano has installed a cell in the Pedro Zaraza municipality, specifically around the La Becerra reservoir, bordering Santa María de Ipire.
The Babas
In another incident, a group of approximately 16 individuals carrying short and long weapons and explosive devices broke into a farm located in the Las Babas hamlet, which is between the municipalities of Pedro Zaraza and José Félix Rivas (Tucupido).
The subjects handcuffed the foreman, threw away the milk that they had milked that morning and took the supplies for planting corn, according to testimonies.
Among the subjects was one dressed as a woman. This group was in that farm from 2 am to 5 am. They fled in a truck owned by the owner of the rural property.
