The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) detained a man who was transporting 15 marijuana panels, military sources said.
The detainee was registered as Freddy Antonio Pineda Rodríguez, captured at the Citizen Service Point located in Apartadero, Cojedes state. He was a passenger on a public transport unit from Barinas bound for Carabobo.
Pineda was approached by the military who searched his bag where they located the panelas that totaled 8 kilos 295 grams, according to the report.
In another procedure, Alexander Eduardo Rodríguez Godoy, alias El Chandito, a member of the criminal organization founded by Nelson Vásquez, alias El Nelsito, was captured.
Rodríguez was arrested in the Los Silos sector, Sucre municipality (Sabana de Mendoza), Trujillo state, during a procedure carried out by a mixed commission of the Bolivarian National Guard and regional police.
The detainee had two panels of cocaine weighing 180 grams.
The subjects were handed over to the Public Ministry where they are prosecuted for illicit drug trafficking.
