The mayor’s words echoed in some state institutions. Through a video, the Ombudsman’s Office ruled on the recent statements of the mayor of Cúcuta.
«He publicly invited mothers, fathers and caregivers to use physical punishment as a breeding method. His words perpetuate a cycle of violence that Colombia has fought to eradicate »Said Iris Marín Ortiz, Ombudsman.
And the entity that protects the rights of citizenship added: «Today, more than always, we must defend the right of childhood to grow in protective environments, free of violence. Because raising with love is also building peace for a good future ».
