A control judge imposed the measure of preventive detention to Nery “N”, one of the 13 people arrested for their alleged participation in the double homicide of Ximena Guzmán and José Muñoz, close collaborators of the head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada Molina.
In the initial hearing, held in the courts of the Doctor Colonia, the Capital Prosecutor’s Office charged women the crimes of homicide, feminicide and criminal association. The diligence, scheduled for 1:00 p.m., began late and lasted for more than four hours, in a private session.
The private defense of Nery “N” requested the constitutional period of 144 hours to define its legal status, so it will be until Monday, August 25 when it is determined if it is linked to the process.
Until the closing of this edition it was unknown if the other 12 detainees would be presented on this day. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, none of the detainees would be the intellectual author of the double execution.
Detention in detail
During the press conference last Wednesday, August 20, the Attorney General of Mexico City, Bertha Mayor Luján, explained that among the detainees are Jesús “N” and Arleth “N”, accused of homicide, as well as Neri “N”, pointed out by criminal association. Abraham “N”, Jesús Francisco “N” and Francisco “L”, who were already investigated for their alleged participation in the crime.
The operation that resulted in the captures was carried out in Mexico City and in the State of Mexico, in the mayor’s Gustavo A. Madero and Xochimilco, as well as in the municipalities of Otumba and Coacalco.
The authorities indicated that there is evidence that the actions had a planned operation for at least 20 days, in which the detainees would have been responsible for monitoring and tracking the movements of the collaborators of the head of government, Clara Brugada Molina.
