On Sunday night, Mario Abdo Benítez arrived in the United States, accompanied by the first lady, Silvana Abdo, as part of his participation in the general debate of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. .
Prior to his participation in this meeting that brings together leaders and authorities from hundreds of countries, the head of state plans to visit the permanent mission of Paraguay to the United Nations, where he will meet with Alejandro Gianmmattei Falla, president of the Republic of Guatemala.
Later at 6:00 p.m., at the same headquarters of the permanent mission of Paraguay, the president will grant an interview to Michael Stott, a journalist from the Financial Times newspaper, according to reports from the Presidency.
For this Tuesday from 08:00 a.m., the welcoming protocol greeting of the Secretary General of the United Nations to the Heads of State and Government is scheduled, on the occasion of the opening of the general debate of the 77th Period of Sessions of the Assembly General.
From 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., the general debate will open at the United Nations headquarters, in the General Assembly Hall. On this point, it is worth mentioning that the Paraguayan president will be speaker number 11 on the list.
Then, from 3:00 p.m., the general debate of the 77th session of the General Assembly will continue with the intervention of the other heads of state. At 4:00 p.m., an audience between Abdo Benítez and the Secretary General, António Guterres, is scheduled at the same UN headquarters.
Later, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a meeting between the Head of State and representatives of the CITI Group, at the Citibank Global Headquarters. At 6:00 pm, he will hold another meeting with businessmen, organized by the Meridian International Center, and Mr. Scott Nathan, President of the Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
On Wednesday the 21st, at 7:00 p.m., he will attend the reception offered by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to the heads of delegation at the American Museum of Natural History.
