They give 15 years in prison to alias ‘Marshall’ for the crime of aggravated possession of drugs

An Oral Trial Court sentenced Eduardo Maceas Alonso (alias Marshall) to 15 years in prison for the alleged crime of aggravated possession of drugs.

Marshall is linked to an event that occurred on March 12, 2019, during a search, drugs and firearms were seized in an apartment on the Amador Causeway.

Prosecutor Eicar Valdés explained that the Public Ministry presented testimonial evidence from the police units and documentary and expert evidence that led the Trial Court to issue the sentence.

Before the sentence was read, the lawyer and cassation officer, Víctor Baker, one of Maceas Alonso’s representatives, announced an appeal against the conviction of his client.

The jurist indicates that in this process there is already a person convicted of possession of the drug found in the search that gave rise to the case. Therefore, he affirmed that the conviction that would be pronounced against alias Marshall is illegal and violates his guarantees within the process that followed him.

According to case reports, it was said that Marshall kept an apartment inside Naos Island in the Amador Causeway, whose value would range between $350,000 and $500,000, and that the most wanted man was captured inside the property, in possession of aggravated drug (marijuana).

“He is convicted of drug possession, without being in the property where the drug was found and without being in possession of illicit substances. He was arrested in the common areas of the PH as a visitor, “said Baker.

The defense has also provided a letter from the administration of the PH in which it is clarified that Maceas Alonso (Marshal) was not the owner, tenant, or tenant of the complex.
Even Baker maintains that the true owner of apartment E-1 testified that the property was not leased to Macias Alonso and reiterated that he did not even know him.
