The relatives of Luis Armando Vélez Moreno, one of the six soldiers who died in the attack on a military patrol in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Buenos Aires, in Cauca, not only had to bear the pain of their loss; to this is added the economic difficulties they go through to give it a Christian burial.

Claudia Patricia Moreno Valenzuela, mother of the soldier, affirmed that They have been days of anguish, pain and impotence, above all because they feel abandoned, pointing out that they did not have the financial resources to give him a Christian burial.

“My daughter traveled to Cali, to the battalion, and they handed over her body with nothing.. We don’t have any support. We have had to collect money with family and friends to be able to bury him, We don’t understand if he was providing a service to the country as they don’t help us,” said Claudia Patricia.

Relatives of the 19-year-old soldier who lost his life in this attack described his treatment as unfair. “The news was very hard for us, when we received it we had to go to Cali for the body and it seems unfair to me because they only helped us with the coffin. It is as if we were killed. We have to assume all funeral expenses. Start looking for help from everyone to be able to give him a Christian burial,” said Jazmín Riascos Valenzuela, the soldier’s sister.
