From the Ministry of Defense they reported that representatives of the Bolivian Drivers’ Union Confederation and some instances of the national government They formed the inter-institutional price control committee of the regulated and non-regulated spare parts sector, due to the increase in costs and low quality.
The formation of this committee was in response to the request of the Confederation Drivers Union from Bolivia.
Representatives of the Vice Ministry of Defense of User and Consumer Rights, Vice Ministry of Transportation, Vice Ministry of Fight Against Smuggling, Bolivian Drivers’ Union Confederation, Bolivian Fiscal Oilfields (Refining), Bolivian Highway Administrator, National Customs, National Hydrocarbons Agency, General Command of the Bolivian Police, National Taxes, among other institutions.
For his part, the Vice Minister of Fight Against Smuggling, Daniel Vargas, reported that the “Strategic Operational Command to Fight Smuggling is willing to work jointly with the Vice Ministry of User Rights and the Consumer, National Customs, National Police, ANH and other institutions to guarantee the optimal performance of the vehicle fleet.”
They anticipated that “controls in the border security zone will be strengthened to identify the illegal entry of lubricants and vehicle spare parts, as well as clandestinely adulterated products within the national territory.”
The sector demands to increase the price of the ticket
Last week, the Confederation of Bolivian Drivers resolved to demand municipal, departmental and national authorities carry out technical studies in each region to define the increase in public transport fare prices.
“Many mayors have not taken the trouble to even prepare the technical studies, and they are not complying; They had to carry out mathematical studies in each municipality (…). Therefore, The expanded decided that it be fulfilled and our Government also has to enforce that point; what the modification of the tickets periodically says,” said the executive of the Confederation of Drivers of Bolivia, Lucio Gómez.
