The leader of the National Union of Postgraduate College Workers (Sintcop), Juan Hipólito Valencia, trusted that the strike – which is now 82 days old – could be lifted shortly, since the sector authorities will attend to their demands, including an increase wage.

Yesterday afternoon, after a meeting of more than six hours with Mario Julio Córdova, director of Human Capital of the Ministry of Agriculture (Sader), the general director of the school, Juan Antonio Villanueva, and labor authorities, the general secretary of the union assured that the negotiations progress in a positive way.

Regarding his request for a 7.36 percent salary increase, Hipólito Valencia pointed out that the Postgraduate College offered a higher percentage than the initial 3.5, although he decided not to give more details. until it’s done.

The Sintcop leader commented that the parties will meet today at the Federal Labor Center to advance in a final agreementand hold conciliatory talks regarding violations of its CCT, including reactivating the ladder to allow the promotion of those who are entitled to a reclassification of their employment level.
