He Observatory of Natural Phenomena (Ofena) reported that the influence of a “monsoon trough” in Nicaragua will cause rains with electrical storms in the country this weekend.

Monsoon, in meteorological language, refers to rains that occur in summer.

The meteorologist explained that for the night of this Friday, between 7:00 and 9:00 pm, “there are possibilities of rain with electric shocks in the area of ​​the Mining Triangle, Madriz, Nueva Segovia, Chinandega, Masaya, Managua, Granada as also in the area of ​​Puerto Morrito towards Rivas».

He also indicated that from 10 pm the national territory will remain completely clear, but with some rain showers.

The director of Ofena explained that for next Saturday the possibility of rain will also continue to enter the southeastern area of ​​Nicaragua into the territory, with some rain and electrical storms.

“Between nine and twelve noon (Saturday) most of the territory will have quite a few rainy conditions, except for the Rivas area where there will be little chance of rain, but the rest of the territory will have rain with electrical storms,” ​​he said.

“Between two and six in the afternoon, heavy rain conditions will continue in the area of ​​Chontales, Bluefields, and Puerto Morrito, in San Carlos. In the Rivas area there will be light and isolated rains, as well as some electrical discharges; and in the area of ​​Estelí, León, Chinandega and Managua, there will be chances of rain,” he added.

Meteorologist Agustín Moreira also reported that on Sunday, May 14, the national territory will remain completely clear, “except in the afternoon between two and four in the afternoon, when there will be some drizzle and light or isolated breezes.”

For this weekend, the Pacific region will maintain minimum temperatures of 23 to 27 degrees Celsius and maximums of 30 to 36. The central zone will present minimum temperatures of 20 to 26 degrees and maximums of 23 to 35, while in the Caribbean They expect minimums of 21 to 26 and maximums of 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.
