During Sunday, the authorities of two departments in the interior of the country reported the discovery of two bodies, one in Rivera and the other in Paysandú.
The bodies were found on Sunday afternoon. In the case of the one found in Rivera, the authorities reported that it was a couple who found him when he was walking around the place with his dogs. The body was already in an advanced state of decomposition, which makes it difficult to identify it.
The mortal remains were near the Cuñapirú stream, in the La Racca neighborhood of the capital city of the department.
The Police carry out work to determine who the person is and how he died. For now, the possibility that he is a homeless man who used to hang around the area to sleep is handled. The skills carried out will confirm or not this hypothesis.
Elderly woman reported missing found
Around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, officials from the Prefecture of Paysandú recovered the body of another person from the waters of the Uruguay River. The body belonged to Ana Altamiranda, an 82-year-old woman whom the police had been looking for since Saturday.
According to what was reported by the local media The Telegraph, a fisherman spotted the body near Playa Park. Given this, he immediately informed the police, who appeared in the area.
On the morning of this Monday, the autopsy of the body was carried out under the coordination of the Paysandú prosecutor, Carlos Motta. The result of the expertise showed that the woman did not show signs of violence and she died due to drowning.
