The National Police of Peru (pnp) found the mother of Congresswoman Rosío Torres (Alliance for Progress), who heads the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, tied up after an alleged case of robbery.
According to the legislator, her mother was found “tied up” near her home, in Yurimaguas (Loreto), and so far she does not know more details.
Given this, the secretary general of the Alliance for Progress, Luis Valdez Farías, expressed his solidarity with legislator Torres for what happened to his mother.
“My solidarity with Congresswoman Rosío Torres of the Alianza caucus who has suffered the kidnapping of her mother”, wrote the former parliamentarian through his Twitter account.
In addition, Valdez Farías considered that what happened with the mother of the president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations represents “an act of intimidation.”
“This represents an act of intimidation of the congresswoman who chairs the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations. We demand, from the Alliance for Progress, that the National Police clarify”, he added in the publication of this Tuesday.
Similarly, the president of Congress, María del Carmen Alva (Popular Action), called for a speedy investigation into the case of the mother of Rosío Torres.
“My solidarity with Congresswoman Rosio Torres. It is unfortunate and alarming what happened to her mother, a victim of kidnapping and violence. I join the demand for investigation and severe punishment for those responsible”, he wrote on Twitter.
