The authorities in Buenaventura (Valle) confirmed the discovery of the body of Brian David Gonzalezthe young man who had disappeared in the waters of ‘La Barra’ beach.
According to the first information, After 18 hours of searching, relief agencies managed to find the man’s body.

According to the official report, the student from the Universidad del Valle was on vacation with his friends and disappeared while swimming in the area.
One of his companions indicated that Brayan David was paddling with them and that when they crossed a deep area of the sea, “he never left the sea.”
In dialogue with RCN World, Lieutenant Commander Juan David Rendón Zapata, commander of the Buenaventura Special District Coast Guard Station, assured that after the emergency one of the companions of the missing young man called for help and the search protocols were immediately activated.
“Through the coastguard line, a call was received from one of the companions who was with him at that time in the water. The young man told us that when they were in the sea, three people decided to swim towards a sandbank that was in front. Two of them managed to get there and one of them did not come out, “said the captain.
Brayan David González was studying the tenth semester of a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages at the Universidad del Valle.
His colleagues remember him as a happy and committed young man. “A month ago he had returned to Colombia from France, where he had made several university exchanges to strengthen his knowledge of languages,” said one of his companions after his body was found.
