At the end of the afternoon of Friday, June 16, the body of the four-month-old baby who was shipwrecked was located, that same Friday morning, when she was traveling in a boat with her mother in the Caño Chiquito River, in Nueva Guinea.
The parents of the minor with initials AMLD together with rescue groups from the Mayor’s Office undertook an eight-hour search with which they managed to find the lifeless little girl.
The mother told local media that she could not hold the girl when the boat capsized.

The body was delivered to the parents to receive the funeral honors.
How did the facts come about?
The boat was sailing in front of the community known as Arranca Frijoles, at about 7:30 in the morning, when it collided with some pieces of wood that were dragged by the currents produced by the heavy rains in the area.
Although other adults and a child under the age of 8 also sank, only the baby lost her life.
The authorities did not provide details of the exact location where the baby was found.
