The young Víctor Alejandro Velasco, 20, who had been reported missing Monday night in the Costa Verde sector, La Chorrera district, was found safe and sound at around 4:30 am on Tuesday.
Commissioner César Zambrano, head of the West Panama Police Zone, announced that the young man was found in the La Industrial neighborhood, La Chorrera, while they were carrying out patrol tasks. Velasco was found walking barefoot in heavy rain.
At the time of his location, the individual had some bruises and was transferred to the Nicolás Solano Hospital.
He stated that they had left him lying in a grassy field; $85 in cash, two cell phones and a credit card were stolen.
At about 6:30 pm on Monday, the young man was intercepted by a white car when he was leaving a pharmacy located in Costa Verde and was taken away along with his vehicle, a gray Toyota Yaris, which was found, after 10:45 pm on the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway, in front of OnDgo (heading towards the interior of the country).
It was learned that minutes before leaving the pharmacy, Velasco managed to communicate with his relatives and tell them that he was being followed by a vehicle, which helped alert the police units.
