They find a missing girl in Caacupé

Monkeypox cases in Paraguay amount to 32, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

According to the statistics of the General Directorate of Health Surveillancein the country 117 suspected cases have already been ruled out and another 3 are under study.

No hospitalizations or deaths from the disease were reported.

All confirmed cases are men, with a median age of 34 years, the ministry said through a report released to the press.

Those affected, according to Sequera, reside in the Asunción Metropolitan Area.

It should be remembered that Paraguay confirmed its first case of monkey smallpox on August 25.

Weeks ago, The authorities warned that the number of monkeypox infections in the country may be higher than the official statistics, for which they invited the public to consult in case of presenting the symptoms.

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced last week that it would refer to the disease with the name “mpox”, to try to avoid racist or stigmatizing comments in relation to the disease such as those that have circulated on the internet this year.

However, the body agreed to continue recognizing the term “monkey pox” as a synonym for one year.
