THE ALTAGRACIA.- A 16-year-old adolescent was found dead in the bathroom of her residence in the Vista Alegre community, in the municipal district of La Otra Banda, in the municipality of Higüey.
The teenager was identified as Esmeralda Richiez, who was found by her parents yesterday Monday. Due to the fact, the Public Ministry reported that Professor John Kelly Martínez (Yonqueli), the main suspect in the death of the young woman, was arrested.
The head prosecutor of La Altagracia, Mercedes Santana, explained that the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) performs an autopsy on the young woman’s body to determine the causes of death.
Regarding the case, the investigation indicates that on the night of February 12, the adolescent left the home where she lives with her parents in Vista Alegre in the company of the teacher, as well as a cousin of his (adult) and three other underage students.
She says that, upon returning home, around 12:00 at night, the young woman arrived pale and bleeding, for which reason Martínez stayed for a few minutes offering help and was with her in the room.
It indicates that when the parents knocked on the bedroom door, they realized that the adolescent had died.
The Public Ministry reported that Professor John Kelly Martínez is being investigated for the death of the minor ERM.
