Prosecutor Fernando Romano decided to file the case for the incidents involving Wanderers and Nacional players during a game at Parque Viera.
The events occurred on March 20 in the marking of day 6 of the Opening Tournament. The clashes occurred after the player Diego Hernández, from the local team, scored a goal and celebrated in front of the Nacional fans.
The striker imitated firing a firearm with his hands and then danced in front of the crowd, which caused annoyance. The Nacional player, Diego Zabala, confronted him and there a fight broke out that involved members of both teams.
Later, Hernández would explain that he decided to celebrate in that place because the team’s photographer was there. The fact did not happen to majors neither on the field nor in the stands, because there were no blows or other inconveniences. For this reason, after the players appeared to testify before the Prosecutor’s Office on March 30, Romano decided not to proceed procedurally and file the case.
