Santo Domingo.- The Administrator of Social Subsidies (ADESS) extended the deadline for beneficiaries of the Aliméntate program, who use their identity and electoral cards as a means of collecting food at the establishments of the Social Supply Network (RAS), to go to the Provincial delegations to request the exchange of that document for the Supérate card, as a payment instrument before June 14 without affecting the corresponding subsidies.

The ADESS and the Supérate program activated a campaign to replace 108,000 cards currently used and that make the system more vulnerable, and they affirm that the change will not affect the funds if they are made before June 14.

In that sense, the general director of the ADESS, Digna Reynoso, explained that the decision seeks not to affect the beneficiaries, so the extension of the term is one more example that it is not intended to leave any needy family without the subsidy.

The head of the entity in charge of managing the transfers of the amounts of the social programs granted by the Dominican Government maintained that the identity and electoral card was used as a means of payment to be able to make the temporary Stay at Home program viable, but that Being a document lacking the minimum technological security, it was violated by cybercriminals, for which the institution proceeded to gradually dismantle it, anticipating not to abruptly affect the supply to thousands of families living in poverty and social vulnerability.

Reynoso also indicated that despite the insistence and efforts made by ADESS and the Supérate program to definitively eliminate the use of the card, these beneficiaries have not complied with the call to make the change to the new payment method, Therefore, and to guarantee that they do not become victims of the scammers of the aforementioned social scheme, they were summoned to exchange the virtual document for the card, last Tuesday, March 3rd.

ADESS and Supérate arranged logistics to serve people who request this service, both in the delegations that correspond to their community, as well as in points that have been enabled in the delivery operations to new beneficiaries, which are carried out in the entire national territory.

The institutions that ensure social protection in the Dominican Republic reiterate the call to the more than 100,000 people who still have the identity card as a means of payment, to go through the established points to replace it, while putting All digital communication platforms (web pages, social networks and telephone lines) are available to receive in a timely manner the location of each point enabled for said change.

They reiterated the importance of heeding the call, while warning that although these beneficiaries will not be excluded from the social program, their identification cards will be blocked, which will prevent them from acquiring the products intended for their food.
