The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday to extend until October 25 the period for receiving credentials for the selection of those eligible to hold positions of Citizen Power.
After approval before the plenary session, the president of the Nomination Evaluation Committee of the Citizen Power of the AN, deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello, presented the proposal – during an information point – after it was approved at a meeting of the parliamentary body.
“As a result of the large number of emails and telephone calls from applicants to apply for this process who reported that they had problems submitting documents, we unanimously decided to extend the application process for four more days, that is, the next 25th of the current month.” , Alessandrello pointed out.
Likewise, he presented the schedule once the receipt of credentials of those eligible for the positions of Comptroller, Attorney General of the Republic, and Ombudsman is completed.
“On the 26th we will present the list of candidates in national newspapers and media. On Monday the 28th the evaluation process would begin for 5 consecutive days,” he stated.
Alessandrello highlighted that to date they have received 105 applications to hold positions of Citizen Power, which reflects the “participatory and leading spirit” of the Venezuelan people.
Those interested in participating in the process must submit their credentials at the Bolivian Museum of Caracas, in the morning between 8 am and 11:30 am.
Likewise, they may present them in the evening hours from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, during the established period.
The conditions to apply for a new period, in the case of the Comptroller and the prosecutor, there are no exceptions, as established by law, except for the Ombudsman who can only hold office for one period.
