The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity, Argentina chapter, expressed its solidarity with the former ambassador of Argentina in Venezuela and former president of Parlasur, Oscar Laborde, after the attacks by the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, for delivering a letter to the gendarme. Nahuel Gallo, who is under criminal proceedings in Venezuela.
“The ridiculous accusation of treason for the humanitarian gesture of bringing a letter from his family to the gendarme detained in Venezuela, at the request of Juan Grabois, only serves to cover up the attempts at interference by the Government of Javier Milei – surely at the request of their masters from the North—in a sovereign country,” reads a statement from the conclave.
In the text, the Network of Intellectuals clarifies that the gendarme is detained for trying to enter Venezuela without authorization, a “suspicious attitude” given that Minister Bullrich had announced months before that she would send gendarmes to that country to “protect the opposition.”
That is why they insist that the attacks on Laborde, like those they constantly make to Venezuela, try to hide the disasters they are causing in Argentina.
In this sense, they allege that they want to hide how the Government of Javier Milei is “plunging the popular majorities into hunger, misery and helplessness, and harshly repressing us when we demand, in addition to the surrender of our sovereignty. “That is treason.”
They also remember in the letter that Argentina hijacked the Venezuelan plane, along with its crew, for months and then scrapped the aircraft in the United States.
“Comrade Laborde has demonstrated coherence in his life and his militancy of Latin American brotherhood, that is what bothers this government that represents colonial and imperialist interests,” he concludes in the text.
