An Economic Complementation Agreement (ACE) with Mexico is in the interest of the National Government and the subject was discussed with the Aztec country’s ambassador, Juan Mannuel Nungaray, who agreed to deepen trade ties with Paraguay.

Foreign Minister Julio Arriola also highlighted Mexico’s pro tempore presidency in CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) during the pandemic.

As for India, which celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations with Paraguay, Foreign Minister Arriola also stated the intention to work on trade opportunities, taking into account that this country is part of the BRICS group of emerging economies.

He also took the opportunity to thank Ambassador Yogeshwar Sangwan for the donation of 200,000 vaccines sent in April 2021, in the midst of a national emergency due to Covid-19.

Regarding Germany, Arriola spoke of the need to strengthen economic relations and highlighted the intention of that country in renewable energies and the protection of biodiversity.

For his part, the German ambassador, Holger Scherf, stressed Paraguay’s forceful position in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
