Amplían cobertura hasta el 100% para los servicios de salud que reciben miembros FF.AA.

SANTO DOMINGO.- Members of the Armed Forces and their direct dependents will benefit from 100% coverage in the health services that they receive within the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS) through the National Health Insurance (SENASA).

The provision, effective as of October 1, was ordered by President Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona and announced by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, ERD.

The measure guarantees health services for the military family and represents a great relief to the soldiers’ finances.

The head of the MIDE thanked the support and concern shown by the president in addressing this fundamental need, of those who serve the Homeland with determination and sacrifice, for defense and national security.

“All local coordination has already been made in order to comply with this new measure, which directly impacts the well-being of our men and women in uniform. This new plan includes full coverage of outpatient services, consultations with specialists in different areas, including psychologists and psychiatrists, without payment limits,” reported Fernández Onofre.

Additionally, emergency services, regardless of their nature, are 100% covered, which reinforces the commitment of the military high command to immediate and effective care for members of the Armed Forces.

Regarding hospitalization, the new plan covers unlimited related medical services, such as surgery, recovery, medical fees, laboratories and X-rays at 100%. In addition, for maternity, full support is offered for normal deliveries and cesarean sections, including medical fees and newborn care.

Other important benefits to receive include coverage for rehabilitation, hemotherapy and dental services, with a comprehensive approach that includes prosthetics, physical therapies, dental implants and complex procedures such as root canal treatments and orthodontics.

In addition, the plan includes 100% ground ambulance service when it comes to emergencies and 50% for scheduled transfers, as well as other additional procedures.

The initiative corresponds with the interest of the Dominican government and the Ministry of Defense to guarantee the well-being and care for the health conditions of the members of the FF. AA., and is part of the commitment to watch over those who carry out the sacred task of defending the homeland.
