The president of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, opened the possibility of decreeing an economic emergency in Colombiain order to face the climatic crisis that is registered by the increase in rains that will occur in three months, according to climate forecasts.
This was announced by the head of state, in the framework of a visit to the municipality of Santa Lucía, in the department of Atlántico.
“Isn’t this the time for an emergency? The congressmen will be able to give their opinion, the media and society. But if we are going to live an episode worse than 2010, in terms of climate, then, necessarily the country has to enter into an economic emergency”, assured the president.
