The Ministry of Culture has set the maximum number of daily visitors to the Machu Picchu citadel during the high season of 2025 at 5,600, according to Ministerial Resolution 000404-2024-MC.
This capacity limit will be in effect on dates of high demand, such as January 1, between April 17 and 20, from June 19 to November 2, and on December 30 and 31. Ticket purchases will be made through the official portal www.tuboleto.cultura.pe.
Cusco: They reinforce surveillance and monitoring in Machu Picchu and Manu National Park
In Cusco, the new administrative headquarters of the National Service of Protected Natural Areas (Sernanp) was inaugurated in the district of San Jerónimo, Cusco. This infrastructure will strengthen the surveillance and monitoring actions of the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and the Manu National Park, two protected natural areas emblematic of their biodiversity and that are also the country’s cultural heritage.
During the ceremony, the minister highlighted the commitment to the protection of these territories, pointing out that the new headquarters is the result of a joint effort to ensure that these protected areas continue to be global references in conservation.
In addition, explained that this headquarters will enhance coordination between both protected areas, that host unique species and ecosystems that need to be preserved in the long term.
He also highlighted the commitment to generating benefits for local communities. Thus, this new headquarters will also be a key space for scientific research and the sustainable management of natural resources, in collaboration with local and regional authorities.
