The access road to Cruz del Condor viewpointlocated in the Colca Valley, was enabled after four days of being closed, due to the cleaning work after the fall of huge rocks and earth caused by the occurrence of several earthquakes of up to 5.5 degrees last week.

According to Andina, the rehabilitation of the road was carried out by Provías Nacional, the Provincial Municipality of Caylloma, the District Municipality of Madrigal, Autodema (Autonomous Authority of Majes) and Autocolca (Autonomous Authority of Colca).
Autocolca reported that national and foreign tourists, as well as travel agencies, can now travel along the route that leads to the main tourist destination in the Colca Valley.
The entity also recommended that travel agencies and tourists adopt precautionary measures when traveling along the road that leads to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, due to the fact that telluric movements are still being recorded in the area.

The tremors in the Maca, Madrigal, Lari, Pinchollo and surrounding areas are constant, so the authorities urge the population to take appropriate precautions to prevent emergencies. In the last 12 hours, the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) recorded two earthquakes of 3.5 and 3.6 degrees in the district of Madrigal.
