More of 40 presumed members of the criminal organization ‘Galician’were intervened in different parts of the city of Arequipa in the mega operation carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office Against Organized Crime and the Police.
From the early hours of the morning on December 2, 30 prosecutors and a hundred police officers went to 26 properties in the districts of Cayma, Cercado de Arequipa, José Luis Bustamante y Rivero, Mariano Melgar and Miraflores for the detention of the members of the organization investigated for cases of extortion, assassination, drug sales, prostitution and human trafficking.

According to the Police, these crimes have been registered in Arequipa a year ago and among the detainees there is only one Peruvian citizen, the rest are foreigners.
Police officers together to the staff of the Prosecutoría still carry out the inspection of properties such as apartments in Miraflores and rooms in hostels on av. Dolores.
