Agents of the National Police dealt a significant blow to one of the main distributors of adulterated cigarettes, in whose wholesale market business thousands of these products were found without documentation proving their legal origin.
As part of the efforts to counteract customs crimes, personnel from the Fiscal Area of Divincri Piura carried out an operation in the market located in the Industrial zone, where there was information that various contraband products were entering, including cigarettes.
The authorities reported that the local “La Serve” owned by Feliciano Zuta was intervened, where a large number of adulterated cigarettes were found, since they did not have the health warnings, nor the documentation of their legal origin.
It was learned that the merchant had only a small batch of these products in his business, to avoid losing all his merchandise in the event of an operation.
These would be Paraguayan-made products that entered the country illegally through the Bolivian border despite the complex situation that has been experienced in Puno in recent days.
