Judge Aleyda María Irías Mairena, of the Second District Court Specialized in Violence of Managua, sentenced to life imprisonment Alfredo Lara Ortiz19 years old, for the crime of aggravated murder against one of the two little sisters who were murdered in the Ciudad Belén neighborhood, Managua.
In the same sentence handed down by the court, the young man was sentenced to five years in prison for the crime of attempted rape to the detriment of the same girl.
The Prosecutor’s Office determined that the subject killed the seven-year-old victim, strangling her with a piece of wire.

In the case of the 10-year-old girl, the Nicaraguan justice system indicated that she was murdered by the 16-year-old teenager, with the initials AESR, brother-in-law of Alfredo Lara and brother of Alison Yahoska Salgado Rugama, 18.
On February 22, the teenager was convicted of the crimes of aggravated murder and attempted rape of a child under 14 years of age. However, because he is a minor, the maximum sentence of imprisonment for him will be six years, as established in the Code for Children and Adolescents.
To prison for complicity
In the same ruling, handed down by Judge Aleyda María Irías Mairena, Alison Yahoska Salgado Rugama, Alfredo Lara’s partner, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for being an accomplice in the double homicide and attempted rape to the detriment of her sisters aged 7 and 10 years.
Alison Salgado will spend 40 years in prison for being an accessory to the crimes of the two little sisters and 20 more years for her complicity in the two attempted rapes.
In the guilty resolution, the judicial specialized in gender justice indicated that the parents of the girls can claim compensation for the damage caused through civil or criminal proceedings, but once the sentence is final.
The crime against the two sisters occurred on September 2, at night, in Ciudad Belén, in District VI of Managua. The defendants lived five houses from where the minors resided. About 30 people were witnesses at the trial.
Police investigations detail that the exam postmortem determined that the seven-year-old girl with the initials IJU was murdered by mechanical asphyxia (suffocation), and her 10-year-old sister MJU, by severe head trauma caused by a blunt object and has green ecchymosis in the pubic region.
The lifeless bodies of the girls were found in a vacant lot in Ciudad Belén on Monday, September 5. At the site, a multicolored fabric mattress, strips of white fabric, a piece of white duplex wire, and samples of body fluids were collected as evidence. The witnesses report that the three alleged criminals washed the house in the morning of the day after the disappearance of the minors.
