The regional director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands; Humberto Ramón López Nieto and another official identified as Juan Luis Camacho Contreras, coordinator of the Pedro Camejo Socialist Company in Sabaneta, Alberto Arvelo Torrealba municipality, were arrested this weekend by commissions from the Bolivarian National Police of the Division Against Organized Crime in the Barinas state.
It transpired that the procedure was carried out in the Barrancas distributor, Las Guayabitas sector, jurisdiction of Cruz Paredes, in the afternoon of this Saturday.
According to the minutes, the officials were captured for the illegal sale of a caterpillar excavator belonging to the Pedro Camejo Socialist Company.
According to the police report, it was known that the national security manager of the aforementioned company denounced that through social networks they were selling machinery with similar characteristics to a unit that had disappeared from the company some time ago.
Given the situation, the investigation began and they managed to meet with the alleged owner, who showed all the property documents.
This citizen, identified as José Simón Peña, was also detained and after his interrogation reported that the officials López Nieto and Camacho Contreras were the ones who sold him the machinery.
The case was made available to the 15th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
Police sources reported that the presentation hearing was held this Monday and Humberto López was ordered to place him under house arrest.
