The organization Texas Nicaraguan Community (TNC) insisted on the risk faced by migrants who try to cross into the United States by sea, which they called a “new lethal route” that is used to avoid being caught by border agents in Mexico.
“At sea, in small boats with motors on board, they make the crossing of migrants in the open sea, small boats, they fill them with 22-25 people and even more, 13 hours in the open sea to avoid being discovered by Migration agents. They make this route the most lethal and dangerous, “says the agency with an attached video that reflects the situation experienced by those who decide to take the risk.

The TNC points out that the citizens who try to cross in this way do so «without vests, life jackets, without eating or drinking to avoid going to the bathroom and with the phrase “he who falls stays”, ringing in their ears, the migrants risk their lives. life in search of the dreamed American dream.
The story of a migrant, who requested to remain anonymous, explained that there are different journeys for those who choose to travel by raft, “first of all there are several coyotes, they leave from different ports. In my case, the coyote we found passed us by raft from Guatemala to Mexico and then in Mexico some trucks are waiting for you and take you to a ranch, but they go at 150-160 km/h full of migrants.”
“Then they take you to a shelter in Tapachula and depending on the time you entered, you will leave the next day or the other day, because the person you hired can have between four to five boats, in my case we waited almost three days so we can leave. During the course of the boat you are in danger because it has a capacity for 24 and in my case it was 30 people, the women are the ones who get on first and they get on the driver’s side because that is where the boat hits less and the part front where it hits the most is where the men go,” the citizen told Article 66.
He adds that the rafts go at high speeds of up to 100 or 110 km/h, “when they go fast, they hit the waves and you are always jumping, when you are jumping you hit your back against the hardness of the boats. In addition, they have to add gasoline and they stop in the middle of the sea because sometimes it runs out.
